It was a real first for Dawlish Beach today with our first foray into the world of Live Facebook Video! We were joined by quite a few and hopefully the experiment was viewed as a complete success by those who watched. Our subject matter for the day was UK Railtours Herd of Wildebeest tour from Waterloo to Paignton. Sadly for those on board the tour was forced to begin at Basingstoke rather than London Waterloo but eventually the four class 73’s turned up with 73128, 73107, 73962 & 73963 top and tailing the rake of twelve coaches. The tour is due to return later today from Paignton to Waterloo via the Taunton route.
1Z73 arrives at Exeter St Davids during our live broadcast.
After a brief visit to Riverside Yard the Wildebeest tour returns to platform 4
Waiting for the signal to leave
And away to the seawall
The Herd of Wildebeest arrives at our San Remo camera with a screen shot from Eric.
And passes the Blenheim on it’s way to Paignton
Next up is the video footage taken from our San Remo and Blenheim cameras.
Nick Campbell’s video taken of the Herd of Wildebeest tour as it approached Teignmouth today.
The return run pictures from the cameras now.
I guess the downside of double top and tail is that the pictures look exactly the same as the first pass!
I think this could be the first time i’ve included the new Mount Pleasant shots in a special post.
