Sadly it’s time to announce the final steam journey for this year. The railway touring company’s Royal Duchy sets off from Bristol Temple Meads at 0848 with LMS Coronation Class 8P 4-6-2 no 46233 Duchess of Sutherland on the front as far as Plymouth. Due to turntable issues for this huge locomotive the tour will be taken by Diesel for the remaining part to Par.

Running under headcode 1Z37 the tour will reach Dawlish Warren around 1132 where it is booked to stand until setting off at 1143 for the wall. This should give locals a last opportunity for some good photographs.

The tour reaches Plymouth around 1243 where the Duchess will be taken off and sent around the Laira triangle ready to bring the train back at 1859 and passing us after sunset sadly around 2006.
