On Sunday the RHTT ( Rail head treatment train) made it’s first operational run out starting at St Blazey depot to Dawlish Warren and then back to its base at St Blazey via Penzance. It surprised me that the pedestrians didn’t appear to feel the spray as it passed. Locomotives which will no doubt remain on this train for some time getting progressively filthy are DB Cargo 66136 & 66027. The picture below shows how they fare after a month of duties!
Later in the evening Colas 66848 could be seen passing through Teignmouth station with about a dozen lengths of continuous welded rail. It carried on to Newton Abbot before running round the train and returning to Teignmouth to offload the rail in readiness for the rail replacement works that are due later in the year. It is shown at the end of the video taken by Nick Campbell.
