After a memorial ceremony at Paddington station this morning HST 43172, named after Harry Patch the last “Tommy” combat soldier to serve in the WW1 trenches who died in 2009, passed through on it’s way to Penzance. The leading engine was planned to be “The Royal British Legion” but in the event was replaced by the unnamed 43150. The return working is due to pass along the Dawlish sea wall at 6.52pm this evening.
