CrossCountry trains use Virgin Trains Craigentinny Traction Maintenance Depot at Edinburgh to service their trains. Yesterday one of their own HST 125’s power cars  failed and one of Virgin’s was substituted for the 1V58  service from Glasgow to Penzance yesterday and the 1S51 Plymouth to Glasgow today. Nice to see a friendly wave from the driver as the train approaching the Rockstone footbridge on Dawlish sea wall.

It was from the top of the footbridge that Nick Campbell videoed its passing yesterday and he stopped back to record the returning service of the summer service from Exeter to Penzance which had been waiting in the station loop at Dawlish Warren for the CrossCountry service to pass.
